INTASC #8: Assessment

INTASC Principle #8: The teacher understands and uses formal and informal assessment strategies to evaluate and ensure the continuous intellectual, social, andphysical development of the learner.

INTASC #8 Interpretation: Teachers who use assessments, use them for a teaching tool and to learn where their students are at in learning. Teachers do not use this as a grade or to compare to other students. As a teacher, I will use assessments to see where my students are and what I can do to help them achieve more or to help them understand where it does not make sense. In order to make assessments helpful to me, I will make assessment purposes and directions clear and precise for my students to understand.

Artifact Reflection
I attached this artifact because it was an assessment with rationale that I did on a student during a course at Texas Woman’s University.
