INTASC #6: Communication

INTASC Principle #6: The teacher uses knowledge of effective verbal, nonverbal, and media communication techniques to foster active inquiry, collaboration, andsupportive interaction in the classroom.

INTASC #6 Interpretation: I understand as a teacher, I must help students use media communication in the classroom. An example of this is to set them up with an email account where they have the ability to email other students in the classroom about what they are learning. Since the traditional ways of communication are still in place, I will encourage communication with parents in a traditional way as well as in media communication.

Artifact Reflection:

The artifact that I chose for this INTASC is a letter to parents introducing myself as the student teacher in their classroom. I felt that this is a good representation of communication because it is showing one way that I will communicate with parents.
