INTASC #5: Motivation and Classroom Management
INTASC Principle #5: The teacher uses an understanding of individual and group motivation and behavior to create a learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.
INTASC #5 Interpretation: I understand as a teacher, that I need to motivate students daily. I understand that my classroom needs to be a positive learning environment where all types of learning is accepted. I feel one way to make a postivie environment is to build a classroom where rules and responsibilities are in place everyday. A classroom needs to be a respectful place where respect is given for the teacher and the teacher to the students. I understand that to have postivie social interaction, the students must have respect for each other. I will make sure that students feel that they can achieve what their heart desires by motivating and encouraging them.

Artifact Reflection:
The artifact that I have attached for this standard is my classroom managment plan because I felt that it was the best representation of me about this standard. I do many ideas for my classroom managment and none of these presented in this form are set in stone. I am more than happy to change my ideas and plans to best fit my classroom and students.
The second artifact that I attached is my student centered discipline plan. I feel this is a good description of motivation and classroom mangagement. This artifact contains a list of some of the most important teacher responsibilities, student responsibilities, and classroom incentives for appropriate behavior which I feel best respresents the motivation section of this Intasc. Also, there is a brief over view of referral guidelines for students to follow in my classroom.
